HOLIDAY TRIP TO CHERATING, KUANTAN, PAHANG

2 days after coming back from Okinawa, we brought the girls to Cherating. 2 and half hours drive from Kuala Lumpur, the girls were so excited to go swimming and seaside. We stayed at Legend Worldwide, Cherating.
After 4 months being away from those girls, they seems so happy now. Sometimes I can feel that they dont want me to be away from them. The way they hug and kiss me, as if they missed me for years!!!
Anyway... with all my heart.. I really have to say thank you to my dearest husband... and my two girls.. for allowing me to go to Japan. Of course, without their support and sacrifice, definately, I wont make it through all the training in Japan.
Their spirit... and love give me strengh.. and motivation..

BARNEY SHOW

Last week, there was a Barney show in Jusco Ipoh. My girls were very excited to go and see with their own eyes... the most adorable Barney and his two friends. They sang and dance together when the big dinasour asked them to.
Frankly speaking, my girls learn english by watching those characters on TV or CD more than when they were in school. Because.. as we all know, in school, teachers use their own slang and dialect when they converse in english. Even the pronunciation and grammar, more excellent when they watch all those programmes (Barney, jojo the circus, barbie etc... just to mention few names) .. Spending some money buying CDs for the kids.. for me... is worth it!!
As a women with career, I feel that time is very precious... for me to spend with the kids.. before we realise... they are already big girls...

CURRICULUM MAPPING AND CONTENT SCRIPT WRITING WORKSHOP

The main task of our sector in the ministry is to develop the e-material (online-material) for self learning that facilitate students all over our country. These materials will be uploaded to our LMS. And one of the big challenge on creating this e-material is our resources. The content expert or Subject Matter Expert (SME) and also Instructional Designer (ID)..
We organized a workshop for curriculum mapping and content writing. The workshop was held from 22-26 May 2006 at the Holiday Villa Hotel, Subang Jaya, Selangor. Those good teachers... super teachers (senior and expert teachers) and also University lecturers .. they sat together to analyze the content and prepare for the scipts. Those scripts as soon as completed and of course evaluated, will be given to another group that will prepare the storyboards for multimedia development. But as I mentioned before, our biggest problem is those content experts... they are only expert in content... but some of them have no basic knowledge in multimedia. So, during the first day, we gave a short brief for them as guidelines. This is so important for them to know exactly the objectives of the script writing purposes. And also, this is the first cycle of the content script writing... there shall be another cycle of improvement for the existing content scripts.
Even though I've been through all the processes before.. Anyway... all the knowledge that I learned in Okinawa... I can impliment it now.. additional to what we are doing currently..
Soon during the storyboards development process, we must guide the storyboarders to chunk all the multimedia elements into small assets.. so that easier for the development team to tag all the elements with the appropriate metadata... in order for the LMS to able to call all the objects.. soon after uploading... Well, knowing SCORM, easier way to create the learning object and make it reusable..

emm.... still long way... anyway... all the best to me..

Teachers Day Exhibition

One of my biggest task after went back from Okinawa is to be one of the comittee for the Teachers Day exhibition. The exhibition was held from 13 - 16 of May 2006 at the Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) Kuala Lumpur. The objectives of this exhibition is to educate people about the background history of education System in Malaysia. Approximately around 10,000 people visited the exhibition. Our task was only to coordinate the exhibition. Even though my part was very small, because they already set the comittee before I came back, at least I got the chance to shake hand with our Minister of Education YBhg Dato Seri Hishamuddin Tun Hussien.

In this exhibition, we were introducing a system... by using SMS (Short Messaging System) from our cell phone... we can get information about our children in school. For example, if the student absent from school, the message will automatically sent to the parents cell phone. And also if parents want to know details about meetings, school fee, their homeworks, all this can be done by using this system. But currently, the system is only for certain schools...

he he... interesting hah??
