Youngest of Nine Rulers in Country
In Malaysia, we practise a system of government based on constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy at each state and also federal levels. At the federal level, the head of the state is the King (Yang Di-Pertuan Agong) and the head of government is the Prime Minister. Since 1957, the King has been elected from among his brother rulers in a 5-years reign and of course, the Prime Minister was elected from the General Election. The five-year rotational constitutional monarchy practised in Malaysia is one of its kind in the world.
