Can we stayback until 11.30 pm tonight?

I still remember more a year ago, when I was in Okinawa, at the very last moments of our course period, we were so busy with the final production. Yes, nobody speak to each other during these days. It was really a quiet moment. Everybody was rushing to finish their project.

For me, I was busy with my Pascal’s Principle.
Time was soo precious for me. I worked as early as 8.30 am in the morning and finished at around 10.30 pm. I have to finish everything in the lab because I dont have any laptop or flash/dreamweaver/audition/fireworks software in my room.

Most of the time, our beloved instructors, Nana San or Uramoto San will be accompanying us until as late as 10.30 pm. But there were also few days where we couldnt stay back in the MM Lab. I still remember one day, we were asking Uramoto San, “Can we stayback until 11.30 pm tonight?, Then he replied… not today Shima San… “. Sometimes Uramoto San stayed with us, some of the time Nana San. But the friends, I mean the working team are the same… it was always me, Lomie San, Susu San, Sol San, Nestoo San and also my Mexican friend.. sometimes we called him sensei... Fernando San.

We were testing the materials, uploading to the MTEC website and test again. I mean we tried to launch, upload, and launch again the materials. Everybody must finish upload all the materials before we have the final presentation to JICA officers. As conclusion, I was busy..

But the only thing that I regret.. like what my friend said.. during the last moment, I should switch off the PC, push away the keyboard.. visit nice places.. explore more cultures.. also spend more time with friends.

Well, after more than one year, I still couldnt forget this amazing country. The knowledge that I gain from the course, definately, I apply in my everyday work here in my office. Of course, like what Uramoto san told me during the last day interview, "Shima San, you are the most appropriate participant for this course". yes of course, because I am directly involve in this area. Dont worry to all my instructors, as much as I can, surely I will dissaminate the knowledge that I have to my colligue here in Malaysia.

One thing for me that normally people do not realise is, even though we can have the same course here in Malaysia, but the way Japanese people taught us was different. I mean in terms of their approaches, their research area, also their way of presenting data and informations were also different.

Japan make my eyes widely open to see the world. As much as I concerned, even though I met people from different part of the world, different races, religion, language.. but we are all human being.. We have same mission to study... also same thinking. Until now, I dont know why, these nice moments that I spent in Okinawa keep on coming to my memories.
